Course Overview
Clients of accounting practises are increasingly seeking more advice than can be provided under the exemptions allowed by ASIC. To maintain clients and improve practise value accountant’s need a means of providing compliant advice in superannuation.
The Accountant’s Bridging Course – Superannuation (ABC) is designed to provide accountants with a rapid means of meeting the competency standards for providing personal advice in superannuation. Successful completion of the course entitles you to be registered with ASIC as an authorised representative of an Australian Financial Services License holder.
PS146 Training Australia specialises in providing skills-based courses. This course has been developed in response to demand from accounting professionals who sought a rapid way to utilise their existing professional knowledge and skills to bridge the gap with ASIC prescribed standards for financial advisers.
Consequently, the course has the following features:

Unlike other courses, there are no pre-requisites except that you are a full member of an accounting association;

The course is skills-based (no additional assignments or homework) and is completed by either an intensive 4-day workshop (consists of facilitated training and group activities conducted with your peers) or self-paced Distance Education;

The course delivers all the base competency standards required for the provision of personal advice in superannuation.

Pathway to full Diploma
In addition to meeting the competency standards for providing personal advice in superannuation, upon successful completion of this course, you will also obtain partial recognition towards the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) which grants you PS 146 competency to provide personal advice in the related areas. The full Diploma (DFS) offers more than just PS146 compliance training - it is designed to engage and challenge participants so that they have the skills to apply the knowledge in their workplace.
Four PS 146 training courses... ...that allow you to provide personal advice... Successful completion of the final Course (DFS 4) enables you to provide personal advice on property ownership structures, listed property trusts, managed investments, shares, foreign exchange, derivatives, and fixed interest products. The third Course (DFS 3) will allow you to provide personal advice on personal and business superannuation, retirement income stream products, pensions, roll-overs and annuities.
The second Course (DFS 2) will allow you to provide personal advice to clients on general insurance, income protection, life insurance, business overheads and trauma insurance. The first Course (DFS 1) sets the foundation by teaching the financial advice process, including provision of general and personal advice, which is reinforced in each of the subsequent DFS Courses.
Completing the ABC-Superannuation course gives you credit for courses one and four (above). Upon successful completion of a further block of four days(Insurance and Investment), you will attain the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) which grants you PS146 competency to provide personal advice in the above related areas.
