The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of personnel involved in working at height within, but not limited to, the Building and Construction Industry. Suited not only for the labourer, but also the supervisor, foreman and most importantly the Managers. How else can one implement policies within any work place and not know what is happening. It is deemed that by achieving competency based training, as an employer you are taking all practicable steps to ensure you and your staff are appropriately trained.
All trainees are trained then assessed to a competency level.
This program comprises of:
What your obligations are in relationship to the Workplace Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
Selection care maintenance and fitting of equipment.
Application of fall arrest systems.
Emergency planning and Knots and Anchors.
All equipment is supplied for training.
Safety equipment is required by law. Research has found that most people do not know how to use the equipment.
By training employees in the use and applications of equipment, the chance of deaths and injuries in the workplace will drastically reduce.
The full Fall Arrest course will provide the employee with the knowledge to operate safely at height in an unsupervised capacity. This is justified through detailed training and both theoretical and practical assessment to a competency base level.
This is an approved course through which you will be awarded a “Statement of Attainment” on successful completion of all modules.
It is strongly recommended that you undertake a 1-Day Refresher Course on a three yearly basis. This will ensure that:
- Skills are maintained at a competent and safe level.
- Changes to the Fall Arrest Systems Course qualification, legislation and both national and state standards are taken in to account.
- Changes and modification to height safety equipment is updated.

All students must be able to stand, walk and climb prior to attending this course, and inform the instructor if they have any medical problem that may affect their safety and the safety of any other student or instructor whilst on the course.

- Figure of Eight on the bight
- Figure of Eight loop
- Figure of Eight Threaded (to join two ropes)
- Alpine Butterfly knot
- Prusik Knot
- Double Fisherman’s knot of Grapevine
During the course the student will be identifying Anchor Points, and Anchorage Selection, which is a very important aspect of Safety at Heights.
Occupational/Workplace Health and Safety Act (WH&S/OH&S)
The Occupational/Workplace Health and Safety Acts in each State, Territory of Australia were introduced to protect the health welfare and safety of people at a place of work.
The supplier abides by these regulations and adheres to all elements that can affect a place of work as this cannot only affect our Instructors but also students on our courses. Specific WH&S/OH&S elements include the use of protective equipment during all Fall Arrest Programs.
Vocational Education and Training Act: 2000
This course is has been developed in conjunction with and approval of the Queensland Vocational Education and training Act and the Department of Education and Training.

The supplier has developed a Quality Management System (QMS). This is to ensure that we maintain policies and management business best practices, which provide for the highest delivery of educational standards within Australia. (There will be a basic literacy and numeracy test on joining the course). It also covers the marketing and delivery of vocational education and training services, which safeguards the interests and welfare of our students and clients. At all our venues we maintain a learning environment that is conducive to the success of the students. We have the capacity to deliver the nominated course(s) and we provide adequate facilities including tea, coffee and available parking. We use the appropriate methods and materials.
