You must be an experienced and competent operator and need no training by the RTO to be able to successfully pass the assessment. The assessment consists of a closed book theory component as well as a comprehensive practical test. If assessment only is to be undertaken, a completed log book is required along with a letter from the employer validating the log. RPL Applications are available through MAJOR. If you wish to undertake the RPL process at MAJOR a fee will be charged in addition to the assessment cost. Suitable evidence of previous qualifications/licences will be required along with supporting verification such as letters from employers, training package requirements of previous courses and more. All evidence must be collected and deemed suitable in order for RPL application to be successful.
Important: SELF-PACED LEARNING KIT
We have a self-paced learning kit which is compulsory for students to have before they attend training and assessment or assessment only. The pack includes a log book per machine, training plan, draft assessment and VET machinery manual.
Course Dates and Times
This course runs every day. Bookings are required.
Courses are available Monday to Saturday either full time or part time on days to suit you and commence every week.
Times are from 6.00am to 3.00pm each day.
The Skidsteer course is competency based and can take up to 40 nominal hours to complete; however this is dependant on each applicant. Some participants may be able to complete this course before this time frame and some participants may take a little longer, there are no additional fees or discounts on the course fees should this occur.
