Certificate II in Information Technology provides the foundation Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills and knowledge for an individual to be an effective ICT user or employee. The qualification has a fundamental ICT knowledge and skills base which is pivotal for all other information technology qualifications.
The 8 core units contain those basic ICT skills and knowledge required for effective entry into all ICT qualifications from Certificate III upwards. It is possible to achieve this qualification during the final years of secondary school education subject to the demonstration of competency to a standard expected in the workplace.

Certificate II in Information Technology is structured through competency based training and assessment. Course duration is based on individual training requirements. 12 months for a full-time traineeship is an indication.
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
The qualification provides foundation general computing and employment skills that enable participation in an information technology environment in any industry. Small to medium enterprises will find the contents of this qualification useful at an ICT user level. In its own right such a qualification could equip an individual to undertake roles such as:
- Office assistant
- Junior level records management
- Supplementary functions for roles prevalent in other industries
The award of Certificate II in Information Technology will be given to students who successfully complete the prescribed units.

A number of units from the Certificate II in Information Technology provide effective entry into the Certificate III in Information Technology, which provides skills for specialist streams in IT Support, IT Applications and IT Network Administration. Such articulation is subject to individual evaluation.
Certificate II in Information Technology has a rolling intake. Continuous enrolments allow students to commence training at any time.
The delivery may be blended or classroom based. The selection of delivery method would depend on the student’s abilities and experience. Eg…if this is someone who has never touched a computer, then it would be best if they attend the classroom sessions. If they are IT savvy, then they may be able to complete some modules “distance” or self paced.
We do not have specific intake dates. Students can enroll and start as soon as payment is received. A training plan ios created for the student and assistance is offered to select the classes that are immediately available to them and if they can or want to self pace through some modules. We tailor the training delivery to their needs.
Certificate II in Information Technology may be delivered through a combination of online, class, workplace, self-paced and distance learning.
To attain the ICA20105 Certificate II in Information Technology, 14 units must be achieved. Students must complete all 8 core units and 6 elective units.
