Course Description
Material in this course will familiarise the new AutoCAD user with the features of AutoCAD 2000 to 2007 that are essential for getting started to use the software for professional applications.
Course Outcome
Gain a thorough understanding and the principles and operation of AutoCAD 2007, the industry standard drafting package.
Pre-Requisites
A sound knowledge of the operation of a Microsoft Windows based computer and drafting principles in highly recommended.
Course Length
4 days (9am - 4.30pm).

- Entering commands and co-ordinates
- The basics of drawing in AutoCAD
- Editing objects
- Object properties – layers, linetypes and colours
- Managing drawing information
- Annotating drawings – dimensions, text and hatching
- Using blocks and symbol libraries
- Setup up drawings for plotting
- Plotting and drawing scale
- Electronic issue of drawings – etransmit
- Functionality and usage of Toolpalletes**
